KERA’s online Voters E-Quiz seeks to dispel common misconceptions about the U.S. economy through a guided, TV, radio and online experiment with a representative group of voters. Citizens will critically assess economic data, then quiz candidates on their fiscal policies in a moderated debate.

KBDI in partnership with KCNC-TV (CBS) and the Rocky Mountain News
This media partnership will produce a 14-part debate series, a Web site, election night coverage, and free airtime segments for all official candidates - including third party challengers - which will augment the station’s regular series and increase it’s election coverage capability.
Duluth, MN
WDSE in partnership with PBS stations KCTS in Seattle, WLVT in Bethlehem, PA, and WEIU in Charleston, IL
WDSE, KCTS, WLVT and WEIU will provide geographically diverse coverage of key presidential campaign issues through field produced stories that will be exchanged for use in each station’s regular series and subsequently compiled into an election special.

Nine New Hampshire citizens will provide weekly video journals reacting to unfolding campaign events and issues, to air on New Hampshire Public Television’s nightly public affairs magazine program.

Through a five-part series of specials, KOCE will focus on the conservative political history of Orange County and explore why this county, out of the 58 in California, is at the nexus of conservative politics in California and nationwide.
Kansas City, MO
KCPT in partnership with KMBC-TV (ABC)
KCPT will construct a “citizen jury” to assess the pros and cons of a regional ballot measure. Additional initiatives produced in partnership with a local commercial television station will include a moderator-less debate as well as reality checks that look beyond TV campaign commercials to radio commercials, press releases and direct mail.

Nebraska ETV Network
Nebraska’s “You Build the Budget” production will show candidates for the state legislature setting budget priorities on-camera in an exercise where they must build a simplified state budget using limited "cash."
Los Angeles, CA
KCET
KCET will produce a series of five single-topic specials utilizing reporting techniques that “do more with less”. The series will focus on Californians and the state’s most pressing issues for 2004, serving as a yardstick to measure what various campaigns are offering as solutions.
Madison, WI
Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) in partnership with WISC-TV (CBS)
WPT and its commercial television partner will share reporting staff in new ways to deepen their coverage of Wisconsin's U.S. Senate race. WPT will also implement new production methods, and acquire and utilize new technology tools.
Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN
Twin Cities Public Television (TPT) in partnership with the St. Paul Pioneer Press and The Citizens League
TPT and its partners will collaborate on “The Facts", which will creatively provide voters with 60 practical things they should know about the issues before voting in the 2004 election.
Nashville, TN
Nashville Public Television in partnership with News Channel 5 (CBS)
Nashville Public TV and its media partner will solicit citizen input to determine what concerns are most pressing in people’s everyday lives in order to produce programs that examine where candidates stand on these issues.
Reno, NV
KNPB in partnership with KRNV-TV4 (NBC), the Reno Gazette Journal and the University of Nevada
These media partners will produce a series of election specials, including a forum to discuss issues from both a local and a national perspective, a program in which a Nevada family has state Supreme Court candidates over for dinner, and a program exploring the evolution of political advertising in a single race over the course of the campaign.
Richmond, VA
Commonwealth Public Broadcasting Corp. in partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University
This Richmond partnership will produce programs focusing on 18- to 24-year-old voters by incorporating student journalists, profiling young people involved in politics, and using young voter focus groups.
Rochester, NY
WXXI Public TV and radio in partnership with The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, WOKR NewSource 13 (ABC) and Center for Governmental Research
Using a “reality” format, WXXI will follow an imaginary start-up or relocating company through workforce and business issues in Rochester and a similar, competitive community to test candidates’ positions on growing jobs and the local economy.
San Francisco, CA
KQED Public Television in partnership with KQED Public Radio and KQED.org
Bringing KQED’s three media platforms together to leverage existing staff and production resources, this partnership will develop shared content and utilize staff in new ways to produce a five-part series of one-hour, live, simulcast prime-time programs.
Spokane, WA
KSPS in partnership with KREM (CBS), the Spokesman-Review, local universities and PBS affiliates
KSPS will produce a series of “Election Connection” game shows in which area colleges compete and students' knowledge of issues and candidates will be tested. Winning teams will interview candidates during a live gubernatorial debate.
Springfield, MA
WGBY in partnership with WFCR (Public Radio)
A TV and radio documentary project that will explore the potential of a single-issue, gay marriage, to fundamentally change state politics and state institutions.
